The Breathing Assessment begins with a conversation about your concerns and/or goals based on input from the Health Measurement Form.  Together we will set attainable goals and an individualized plan to meet those goals.

We will work together to learn the fundamentals of healthy (diaphragmatic) breathing and improve your overall breathing habits by:

  • Determining your BREATHE™ (BIQ) grade-a functional baseline measurement used to monitor your progress and see results
  • Learning about different breathing styles
  • Identifying myths or misconceptions affecting your breathing style
  • Correcting postural issues
  • Learn how to breathe to calm the nervous system (rest & digest)

The process is like no other as it provides you with measurable results and simple steps towards better health and optimal breathing habits.

This BREATHE® class will highlight the belly breath and why it is important to understand and practice early in life. Help your kids learn HOW to breathe the way the body is designed to breathe. And practice together as a family!

I often describe the breath as a superpower that is with us wherever we go. This class teaches kids how to use this amazing resource when times get tough. Family members will learn how to breathe optimally and build a healthy breathing routine together. Give your kids the lifelong tool to reduce stress, manage emotions, strengthen the immune system, and enhance athletic performance.

What we will do:

  • Learn about good breathing and bad breathing habits
  • Understand how the body wants to breathe 
  • Find out how to manage stress using the breath
  • Discover the diaphragm and how it is designed to work
  • Practice breathing using the diaphragm (“belly breathing”)
  • Read The Belly Breath book by Dr. Belisa Vranich
  • Practice simple exercises to improve breathing habits

The Breathing Class™ and Assessment for Young Athletes & Coaches​

This is a game-changer, folks!  If your child is an athlete or you work with young athletes, this is for you.  Many of us know that fatigue is the worst enemy for any athlete, but did you know that you can actually strengthen your breathing muscles? 

According to Dr. Belisa Vranich, co-author of Breathing For Warriors, “You have ten pounds of breathing muscles just languishing; that is to say, not being trained functionally.  You are not training these muscles when you do cardio.”  What this means is that you must work to strengthen your breathing muscles separately from your sport.  This class will show you how!

The breath is the most basic movement we make and all other movement builds on breathing.  Therefore, if your breathing is messed up, your movement will lack integrity and stability.  

This class is designed to help young athletes or coaches learn how to:

  • Identify and correct dysfunctional breathing habits

  • Re-learn how to breathe in a biomechanically sound way

  • Understand breathing and emotions

  • Breathe in an optimal way for the unique demands of your sport

  • Breathe diaphragmatically (belly breathing)

  • Breathing to recover 

Struggle with endurance or feel gassed quickly?  Maybe you want to use the breath to build strength and stability or as a vehicle to calm the body and settle the mind. Whatever the goals may be, breathing in an optimal way will provide the athlete with the tools to perform better overall.

This 90-minute BREATHE™ assessment will lay the foundation for optimal and efficient breathing.

We will learn HOW to breathe to:

  • Manage anxiety and nerves 

  • Regulate adrenaline

  • Improve endurance and conditioning

  • Reduce fatigue

  • Enhance the center of gravity (stability & movement integrity)
