What is a breathing coach, you ask? As a breathing coach, my goal is to help you learn how to breathe efficiently, using the correct breathing muscles that promote your physical and emotional wellness.⁠

Breathing is something we all do, but most of us have poor breathing habits that leave us stressed and exhausted. ⁠

Dr. Belisa Vranich @drbelisa, clinical psychologist, author of BREATHE, Breathing for Warriors, and The Breathing Class™, developed a functional measurement known as the Breathing IQ (B-IQ), which establishes a baseline for your breathing habits. ⁠

Under her training, I was able to fine-tune my own approach as an educator. Passionate about helping kids, I brought my own practices and tools into the classroom.⁠

There are two things I want to tell you today (well.. maybe three):⁠

1. Happy Small Business Saturday! ⁠

2. Why I created the BE Buddy in the first place...⁠
⁠
I was born with Hyaline Membrane Disease (otherwise known as Infant Respiratory Distress Syndrome). This meant that as a preemie newborn, I needed extra oxygen to help me breathe. ⁠
⁠
Things didn’t look good. I was given a 50/50 chance of survival.⁠
⁠
I was fortunate to have been born so close to a world-class Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with the equipment to keep me alive. I was placed on an incubator, which provided the oxygen I needed to survive.⁠
⁠
I spent the first 3 weeks of my life there.⁠
⁠
Breath is life. Without this vital energy source, we don’t survive. I don’t remember this day, but sometimes I wonder if my body does, and this is why I am passionate to help others breathe well. ⁠
⁠
My mission is to help parents and children develop healthy breathing habits early in life so that they can manage stress and regulate emotions wherever they go.⁠
