The breathing class was developed by psychologist and author of BREATHE: The Simple Revolutionary 14-Day Program to Improve your Mental and Physical Health., Breathing for Warriors, and The Breathing Class™, Dr. Belisa Vranich.  Her work and her passion for the biomechanics and psychology of breathing have sparked a new appreciation and fascination for me and are on a mission to share it with the world!

The program uses a functional measurement that is practical and empowering to help people learn how to breathe in a way that is optimal for the body.  Our bodies are designed to use the diaphragm as the primary breathing muscle, but many of us use the auxiliary muscles (chest, neck, and upper back muscles) resulting in a vertical breathing style.  To breathe diaphragmatically, breathe horizontally filling up the largest part of the lungs.

Our work focuses on empowering parents, youth coaches, and caregivers through their own breathing to become their child’s breathing coach, integrating breathing tools and strategies into everyday life to feel calm and prepared to navigate life’s challenges.
