Don't worry, it happens to the best of us! ⁠

But with it being "Correct Posture Month" I thought I would give you an easy one to remember to correct your posture— and practice mindfulness— for at least 1 minute a day. ⁠

I call it: the S.T.O.P and B.O.P⁠

🛑 First, S.T.O.P and get the body ready.⁠⁠

S- Shoulders relaxed⁠⁠
T- Tummy soft⁠⁠
O- Open & close the mouth⁠⁠
P- Posture tall⁠⁠

Once you're in position, we're going to B.O.P or Breathe On Purpose!⁠⁠ 🌬⁠

Well, poor breathing manifests into other problems as we become adults. Problems like:⁠

Remember stop, drop, and roll? 🔥⁠
⁠
We learned this as kids for emergency situations. We've ALL taken this mantra with us into adulthood.⁠
⁠
But there's another one your kids should learn. One that teaches them to STOP and deal with stressful situations...⁠
⁠
Your kids are sitting hunched at their desks all day. These positions inhibit the diaphragm, which messes up your breathing. ⁠
⁠
And what happens when you feel like you can't breathe?⁠
⁠
It creates stress in your body.⁠
⁠
That’s why you have to learn to breathe on PURPOSE and the right way. We have to interrupt these harmful stress cycles (i.e. slouching).⁠
⁠
So teachers and parents, just like stop, drop, and roll 🔥 it's time to teach your kids to S.T.O.P. and B.O.P.⁠
⁠
S.T.O.P. and B.O.P. helps to release that tension first. So S.T.O.P:⁠
